Home School in Full Effect!
Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve blogged, a lot goin’ on. Home schooling has been really good, we have a great cirriculum to follow and after completing the home school course I learned the best way to teach my kids learning styles and accomodate their needs so they enjoy learning. I realized that I was way to structured for what they needed, I was “doing school at home.” It was really hard for me to give up the control I need from the “structure” and take on the “unschooling” approach. I’v… Continue reading

We’re Seein’ Spots!
So yesterday morning as I was changing Camden’s diaper (no he’s still not potty trained) I noticeds some spots on his tummy. They seemed like bug bites, just a lot of them. Later on they seemed to have spread, to his sides and arm pits and then they started connecting. I gave him a baking soda bath to relieve the itch and even some Caladryl (?) lotion. He didn’t have a fever or seem to be effected at all other than the itchy red spots. This morning he seems to be better- it looks more like a … Continue reading

Field Trip to the Ocean
Yesterday, we went down to Boulevard Park to gather some salt water for a science experiment (evaporating it into salt). They had a blast and got to see some pretty cool things down by the water. Here are some pictures of my little beach bums! Continue reading

Kaety, Kaety, Kaety….
Kaety is a very creative thinker and loves to work with her hands. After fighting with me about using all the boxes I just broke down for recycling, I told her she could use any other box in the house she could find (I was sure I got them all). This is what she came up with.
This is where she found the boxes.
Kaety, Kaety, Kaety… what would I do without her to make my day interesting. I love that girl! Continue reading

Back to School!
Well, this week we slowly started getting back in to schooling. I wasn’t quite prepared to jump in fully (lots of preparation when you’re a perfectionist with 2 kids to homeschool) so we are starting off with just the basics. Too start the year off with some fun, we took our first field trip yesterday. A bus ride to the library- yes we’ve done it a couple times already but the kids love it and feel so cool doing it. We’ve decided that we continue doing this whenever we needed to go to the lib… Continue reading
Parents come to visit
My Mom and Dad came to town last Saturday and took off this morning to drive back to Boise. We had a great visit and as always it’s hard to say good-bye. They got to see Jump Around for the first time and were very impressed, my Mom gave a tour on the video camera to show everyone back home and was thrilled to take home a shirt as a souvenir. We also did some of our favorite things with them like taking the bus down to the library and having lunch at Fiama Burger, going down to the Skagit Chi… Continue reading
