Day 8 (July17)

Happy Anniversary! I can’t believe that 12 years ago today I was waking up to my family singing “Going to the chapel.” What a day that was, almost like a dream. I love that I got to tell ‘our’ story this week and use it to bring others hope. We have definitely been through a lot together and I’m sure there is more to come, but we’ve learned that the most important thing about marriage is to keep you at the center, Lord. I pray that you’d continue to give Cris and I more opportunities to share our story and bring hope to other couples. Bless our marriage and help us to find ways to get in the word together. I also pray that you’d provide a way for us to celebrate our anniversary sometime soon. Help us to be creative and maximize what we have.
Well, yesterday was yet another great day! We took some clothes that lady in Oregon had made and donated, to one of the poorest neighborhoods to hand them out and do a small presentation. It was so great to provide a handmade peice of clothing to someone who probably never owned anything brand new in all their life. They were so grateful!
Then after lunch, we went down to the festival. This was the smallest festival, but by far the most fun! It was much safer with less people so we got to stay through all the other stuff going on. We salsa danced with the locals and worshiped together in both languages- what a beautiful picture of what heaven is sure to be like. You bridge the gap between languages and nations! Only you, Lord, only you!
Well, today we are off to 5 different churches to preach and give testimonies and then we have our last fastival tonight. It’s kind of sad that this is our last day of ministry and we will be heading home in 2 days- but yet I’m excited for the much needed rest and also to see my family- I miss them so much!
