El Salvador- Day 4 (June 28th)

Lord, you never cease to amaze me! Yesterday morning we started the day off by splitting into groups to visit some of the local churches. My team sat in on a Bible study- who would have thought that I could learn something from a man speaking a different language. Only you, Lord, could orchestrate something like that. Although the church service was long, it was filled with your Holy Spirit and was very worth it! John Andrus (one of our extreme biker guys), Maddy Ryan and Justin Schoonover each gave their testimonies and Paul Covey (our other extreme biker guy) ended with some words of encouragement. One amazing morning!

Thank you for dancing for me yesterday! Thank you for demonstrating your miracles through me. It was the most amazing thing- we walked almost 5 blocks and my knee didn’t even begin to hurt untill we got on the park grounds where we were doing the festival. It seemed that within just a few steps that I began to limp with a shooting pain in my knee. I tried stretching it, but it just continued to hurt. I thought maybe if I sat down while doing the “wordless braclets” that it would get enough rest and it would be fine….. nope! I started  freaking out! We began preparing for the show and I didn’t know what I was going to do- how would I be able to dance when I couldn’t even walk? I pulled myself away from everyone and found an empty room under the gazebo where we were meeting. I needed to be alone with you, to cry out for your help. I will never forget that little room, where I completely emptied myself and asked you to come take my place- there was no way I could do, so you would have to take over. I asked that you take the pain away so I could dance for you and bring you glory. Well, that is exactly what you did! I limped my way over to the stage with the team, I limped my way up the steps to share my testimony (which you supplied every word without hesitation), then as I walked to my spot to begin the dance I prayed one last prayer for you to show up and take over. The music started and…. NO PAIN!!!  I did both dances (including my solo) with absolutely NO PAIN!! After we were done, I lost it! I cried so hard- you truely did show up and take my place. That was all you on that stage cause there was no way that I could have done it. Throughout the festival it slowly returned, but just the fact that for that time on the stage- you took it from me so I could bring you glory! Truely amazing!

After I was done, I walked over to the medical tent to check on Elyssa (who broke her toe during the Everything drama). Once I got there, I noticed that an older lady had followed me. She said something in Spanish that I couldn’t understand, so I said, “no hablo espanol.” She paused for a moment, thinking and then said slowly, “Mi….(pattying her chest)…te amo  (patting my tummy).” I said “gracious” and gave her a hug. She just smiled at me again and walked away waving. Later she found me and wanted to take a picture with me. I love the way you use me Lord, to touch the lives of other people. What an amazing blessing! Thank you!

Last night during family time, Alex shared something with us that went hand in hand with my knee experience. She has very weak knees and every time they pracitced their Creation drama, her knees would hurt. She was a little nervous about going on stage, worried that her knees would go out during their performance. Once she got up there, she too, had absolutely no pain! You are so faithful, Lord! I love it! She shared a verse with me that fit so well with what we were feeling. Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
