This what Brian challenged us with the night before our return:
After Reading 1 Kings 17,18 and 19
-We need to continue in faith, Elijah prayed 7 times before the rain came.
-Don’t let the fear consume you.
-God works in small whispers- so listen!
1. What is it about this week that brought me so close to God?
-Meeting others needs
-Watching God move through other students (my girls mostly)
-God using my story for his glory and bringing hope to others
-The Holy Spirit moving inside me
-Seeing the unity between churches and nations, all for God’s glory.
2. What is God calling me to do when I get home?
-Remain in him- be still and know that he is God. Stop trying so hard to hear him and just listen.
Dear God, Thank you so much for allowing me to go yet another mission trip- it still blows my mind away that you had this plan for me! I am so honored to be a part of something so much greater than me, I am truely honored to be used by you. I don’t deserve to have such a privilege in my life, but yet, you chose me anyway. Thank you for loveing me so much and letting me take part in your work.
Lord, I am a bit nervous about going home. My relationship with you was a bit stagnent before I came. Please show me how to study your word, give me a desire and passion for your word. Teach me how to spend time with you in a way that’s effective and productive. I am also unclear in the roll I play at Jump Around and what I need to focus on when the schedule changes in September. Please give me a clear vision for our family and our business, Lord. I don’t want to do anything without you, Lord. I need you!
“But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15 A great verse for our team as we jump back into life. I’m praying that they will follow you in all that you’ve called them to and away from. Give them courage to follow you, Lord!
