“We will boast of the things that show our weakness.”

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” 2 Chorinthians 12:9

I am so sorry that I have not been updating our blog. To be very honest, I wasn’t sure what to say and what to be quiet about. We’ve been going through a very hard journey since I got back from Guatemala. The week I got back, Cris informed me that our house was in the process of being forclosed, our auction date is December 11th. We made the decision to try a short-sell so that we could avoid the forclosure showing up on our credit. Cris has been looking for jobs for over a year now and continues to look, he does have his side business “Wesselman Solutions” that has been our only source of income. He has a few loyal clients and has picked up a few more in the past month (praise God), but because it is on a “when they need him” basis, we never know what to expect for income. Jump Around had a hard summer, who wants to play indoors when it’s 80 degrees outside and there are plenty of places to go swimming and hiking? Our outdoor rentals got used quite a bit but not enough to pay the bills. Between the Robison’s (our co-owners) and us, we decided that we would pull out of the day to day stuff so Cris could focus his time on his other business to make money and any “income” from Jump Around would go to them. Sarah quit her job at the church to help Matt at Jump Around and has made some awesome changes and done a great job stepping up to the management position- those two make a great team! We’ve also been forced down to one car, our Ford Expedition has broken down three times now with the same problem and we’ve already spent hundreds of dollars on fixing it, this last time was our breaking point and until we can afford to get it fixed, it is sitting at the Robison’s house. So, I tell you all this not to start a pity party but so you can have an idea of what we’ve been praying for and for you to see just how we need God to provide in this time of our life. He has already begun to show his power in so many ways and that is made us want to share this story with you. God is so amazing and reveals his protection and power in the most creative ways, how can we NOT boast of his goodness? So, in sharing this scary and difficult time in our journey, you will get to see just how amazing our God is.

Update on Blessings!

I started teaching at a homeschool co-op through the Meridian School district this fall and making some pretty good money on it, it’s been a lot of fun and has allowed me to do what I love. One of Cris’ clients needed someone to come in for 10 hours a week to do some data entry, guess who got the job? He goes in on Tuesdays and Thursdays which are our stay-at-home home school days, so it works out pretty well. Jump Around is getting more and more busy in this cold, rainy weather and has picked up a very good business connection that will do wonders for our advertisement and marketing. In the spring, our food card was canceled which made it hard to get food… but “mysteriously” out of the blue DSHS decided to review our case and found that “low and behold” we did qualify for food benefits! They then decided to give us backpay for all the months we didn’t recieve benefits- what a blessing! We were able to help out some of the other families aren’t able to qualify for benefits which we see as a beautiful way that God has provided for his people. We do recieve updates on our our card once a month and the amount has come down quite a bit since we have a more steady income, but it continues to be such a blessing! Another beautiful picture of God’s provision has been in the amazing little food co-op between several families we know that get extras in various ways and all pitch in to help each other out. It’s the body of Christ in action- very cool!

These are just  a few of the ways God has been providing for us. We know that he has so much more in store for us and we are excited to share that with all of you. We hope that in journaling about this time in our lives that you will see God’s hand in even the darkest situations and it will bring you hope and encouragement in your own life journeys. Be sure to check back from time to time to see how God’s been working in our life.

Please continue to pray for us and all those that are feeling the strain in our economy. God bless you!
