A list of Blessings!

Okay, this week has been truely amazing! It seems like each day was yet another opportunity for God to lavish us with his abundance of blessings. There have been so many that I will just have to put it in a list formation.

  • So I told you about the decision we made on going with the guy who could fix the Ford Expedition- Well, on Wednesday night we met up with him to have him look at it and he said it would not be a problem. Cris asked what he would charge to have the guy show him how to fix it and all the guy would like is for Cris to fix his laptop (which the problem is so minor that I could fix it). Totally Amazing!
  • I have a doctor’s appointment on Tuesday! Big deal right? Well, you might think that- but what if I told you that I haven’t been in to a doctor (for a general check up) since High School?! And if you read my Guatemala Journey you know that I’ve had a pretty hard time finding any doctor (that takes our insurance) to take me- a new patient. But the funny thing is- I didn’t call to make the appointment- they called me! I was just praying Thursday morning that God would remind me to call around again to try to find a doctor…. well, he decided to do one better than that. I totally forgot that I had put my name on a waiting list back when I was trying to get in for Guatemala and just like that, “out of the blue” my name came up to the top of the waiting list and a few doctors are taking new patients. What a blessing! Now just pray I don’t have some life altering disease that I should have caught years ago. 🙂
  • The people Cris works for on  Tuesdays and Thursdays doing some data entry decided to bless us this week. Cris went in on Thursday morning and his client pulled him aside to tell him how much he appreciated him and said he knew how our family had been struggling so they put together 3 boxes of food for us to take home. God has put some amazing people in our lives- we are so grateful for them!
  • We were given a total of 3 bags of clothes for our kids from two different friends. Each one of the kids got something new added to their wardrobe- it was like Christmas! They love getting hand-me-downs!
  • We then received a check in the mail from my parents to help us out with getting the Ford Expedition fixed or shoes or bills or whatever we needed. I just love them, you can tell it’s killing them to be away from us during this time and hear all we’re going through. I do miss them so much and at times just cry because I miss them so badly and would give anything to be near them. They have been a great support to us through all this and that means so much to Cris and I.

These are just the things that have been ‘out of the norm’ but God blesses us in even the smallest things that we get to experience on a daily basis, too. Like the sweet smiles of my beautiful children; the hugs and kisses they give me throughout the day “just because” ; the amazing gifts of artwork they come up with that get trailed all over the house; the satisfaction and pride they bring me in watching them flourish in their schooling… I’ve got some pretty smart kids; seeing my husband come home from day of work; catching my husband staring at me and then calling me a “hottie”; our family prayer times; hearing my husband pray for me or thank God for me; and of course my quiet time in the morning when I get up when the house is still dark and quiet to spend some alone time with my Heavenly Daddy- he shows me great things from his Word to teach and inspire me. He reminds me of the things we’ve decided I need to work on, or the people I need to lift up to him in prayer. It’s these moments that supply me with the strength and patience I need to get through the day.

Yes, God has definitely given us more than we deserve and we are eternally grateful to serve such an amazing and generous God! Thank you to all of you who have been praying for us, you too are a wonderful blessing that God has placed in our lives.
